Qatar Emiri Air Force is likely to receive the first batch of Rafale fighters in February next year.

“Qatar Emiri Air Force will receive the first batch of Rafale on sixth of February 2019,” according to a twitter account linked to the Qatari Emir quoted an unnamed source as saying in the official video of the Emiri Air Force Thursday.

Qatar had ordered 24 aircraft for $7 billion along with MBDA missiles on May 4, 2015. The agreement includes an order for 24 Rafale fighter jets, with an option on a further 12 and training of 36 Qatari pilots and technicians by the French military.

Qatar signed a contract to buy an additional 12 Rafale fighters with an option to buy 36 more fighter planes in December last year.
