A Jaguar fighter jet belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF) has crashed in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The pilot has managed to eject safely, ANI reported.

The Jaguar aircraft was on a routine mission and had taken off from the Gorakhpur air force base. A court of inquiry has been ordered to find out the reason for the crash.

In June 2018, there were two accidents in India involving the Jaguar fighter jet.

Air Commodore Sanjay Chauhan breathed his last after his Jaguar fighter plane went down in India's northwestern state of Gujarat. A few days later, another Jaguar jet of the IAF developed a snag while landing and had a minor accident. The pilot was on a routine training mission from the Jamnagar Air Force base.
