USAF T-6 Trainer Crashes, Pilots Eject Safely
T-6 Texan II

Two pilots of the T-6 Texan II single-engine, two-seat primary trainer that crashed Wednesday afternoon, southwest of Hastings, Okla, have ejected safely.

The incident happened about 2 p.m. about 40 miles from Sheppard Air Force Base, located north of Wichita Falls, Texas. The plane was part of a pilot instructor training mission at the time of the incident, an Air Force statement said.

The statement added that investigation to acertain the cause of the crash has begun. Officials urged the public to contact the air base if debris from the plane is found.

The T-6 Texan trainer belonging to the USAF is designed to train Joint Primary Pilot Training students in basics flying skills common to US Air Force and Navy pilots.
