The Russian armed forces are set to receive their first Sukhoi Su-57 fifth generation, stealth-capable, multirole fighter by the end of this year, Alexey Krivoruchko, Russia's deputy defense minister said today, during his visit to the Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft Plant.
“We will get the first Su-57 stealth fighter by the end of this year,” Krivoruchko said.
The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aircraft plant is ready to start mass manufacturing of the fighter, TASS reported.
"The plant is ready for the mass production of jets. We have assessed the jet's readiness today, as well as the plant's readiness to mass manufacture of Su-57. We were fully satisfied with what we saw and hope that all plans will be fulfilled," the minister added.
Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly ready to offer Turkey the Sukhoi Su-57 if the US ends its cooperation with Ankara on the Lockheed Martin F-35 project.
