Turkish Anka Combat Drone Completes 26-hour Flight

Turkish Aerospace on Thursday announced that the Anka combat drone completed a record flight of over 26 hours.

"Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ANKA flew 26 hours and 30 minutes. With the flight, ANKA made a new record by flying more than a day," the company said in a tweet.

All variants of the Anka drone have an endurance of about 24 hours, with payload capacity and maximum flying altitude changing with the drone version.

According to reports in the local media, Anka drones have been employed by Turkish forces in their Syrian Operations- Euphrates, Olive Branch, and in the ongoing Operation Peace Spring.

Last week, Ilham Ahmed, leader of Syrian Democratic Force (SDC), the political arm of Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), had said that Damascus asked the Pentagon to block the usage of Turkish military drones over Syrian airspace.
