S Korean Aerobatics Team Pulls Out of Singapore Airshow: Coronavirus Scare

South Korean Air Force's Black Eagles aerobatics team pulled out of participators list in the upcoming Singapore Airshow 2020 (February 11-16) as part of precautions against the novel Coronavirus.

The Black Eagles have notified Singapore of the decision, which was taken on Monday.

"It is part of efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and to guarantee the safety of service personnel," the Air Force said in a release.

Aerospace companies including business jet manufacturers Textron Inc and General Dynamics Corp's Gulfstream division have also reportedly planned to withdraw from participating in the event.

Over 17,200 cases of coronavirus infection have been reported globally so far, with 360 deaths confirmed in China. South Korea has recorded 15 confirmed cases of the deadly virus, though no suspected or confirmed cases have been reported among service personnel, local media reported.

The biennial air show is expected to bring together more than 1,000 companies from 50 countries, as well as around 55,000 trade participants, according to its organizer.
