The Iranian military have received eight locally-overhauled aircraft that includes fighters such as F-14, F-4 and Mirage jets and C-130 transport plane.
“The overhaul of military aircraft is a complicated process that only a few powerful countries in the world could do,” Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency last week.
The aircraft delivered to the military includes F-14 Tomcat, F-4 fighter-bomber, Mirage, Sukhoi, C-130 Hercules and Boeing 707 planes. They were handed over to the Iran Air Force following successful flight tests.
Around mid-February, Tehran installed locally-made radar and other equipment in Mirage F1 warplanes flown to the country by Iraqi pilots during the 1991 US invasion of Iraq.
