The Iranian Navy received an overhauled Ghadir-class mini-submarine on Wednesday.

“The domestically-manufactured light submarine has joint the country’s naval fleet. The strong point of the Ghadir-class is its small size, which cannot be identified or tracked,” commander of the Iranian Navy’s factories, Flotilla Admiral Abbas Fazel-Nia was quoted as saying by the Iranian media.

The submarines are capable of launching subsurface-to-surface missiles, torpedoes and mines. First two boats joined Iran’s Navy in November 2018.

“The submarine can pose a great threat to the enemy by carrying smart torpedoes... It is highly capable of destroying enemy targets,” he claimed.
