The Russian Ministry of Defense will receive its first serially-produced Project 22350 frigate Admiral Kasatonov by mid-June.
"Considering the pace of state trials, the ship’s delivery to the Defense Ministry may take place in late May or early June," Severnaya Shipyard said in a statement Wednesday.
Trials of the ship equipped with torpedoes, Kalibr and Oniks missiles commenced in November last year. Final trials will begin soon, the shipmaker said.
Frigates of this class have a displacement of 4,500 tonnes and can attain a speed of 29 knots. They are armed with Poliment-Redut air defense missile systems.
