The U.S. Department of Defense announced an $847 million contract to Lockheed Martin on Wednesday for F-35 fighter aircraft.

This modification increases the scope to procure long lead materials, parts, components, and efforts associated with the production of 105 Lot 17 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft for the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, non-U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) participants and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, as per an official DoD statement.

Work is expected to be completed in May 2026.
