A new contract has been signed between Artem State Joint-Stock Company, a subsidiary of Ukroboronprom and the Ukrainian defense ministry for the production of a large batch of unguided RS-80 air-to-air missiles.

Under the current contract, the number of missiles is five times higher than the order that Artem fulfilled last year. This volume will allow to load own capacities of the enterprise and its co-executors, the company said in a release.

RS-80 is designed to destroy armored, lightly armored and unarmored military equipment, as well as enemy manpower. It is used on Su and MiG fighters as well as Mi and Ka helicopters.

In November 2021, the company together with partners successfully tested the latest developments of combat units for this type of missiles: high-explosive and high-explosive detonator with a shock nucleus.

The obtained results promote more effective use of RS-80 products in the system of fire destruction to provide adequate repulse to the aggressor and increase the firepower of our troops.
