Russia appears to be threatened by U.S. Navy submarine’s approach towards Greek coast, especially since it is reportedly armed with 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles.

Tomahawk has a range of 1,600 km.

Russia’s Interfax reported citing the U.S. Navy that USS Georgia is currently near the Souda Bay base, located in the north of the Greek island of Crete. From this position, Crimea and the southern part of Ukraine are within the reach of the submarine's cruise missiles, the report said.

Greece and Norway announced the expulsion of a total of 15 Russian diplomats on Wednesday. Athens has sent Kyiv humanitarian and lethal aid, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited to address the Greek parliament on Thursday.
