Russia’s Kazan Helicopter Plant Certifies New Mi-28 Simulator

Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has certified the operation of a new Mi-38-2/4 helicopter simulator produced by Kazan Helicopter Plant, a subsidiary of the Russian Helicopters.

The new simulator is versatile - due to the possibility of reconfiguration, it can be used to teach piloting Mi-38-2 helicopters, in which the commander is on the left, and Mi-38-4, where the commander is on the right. At the same time, 40 minutes are enough to reinstall the equipment, all the settings are independently carried out by the employees of the Aviation Training Center of the KVZ, Rostec said in a statement.

The simulator is equipped with a vibroacoustic platform that simulates the movements and sounds of a helicopter depending on the flight conditions. The simulator allows you to recreate any weather conditions: visibility, cloudiness, atmospheric phenomena, time of day, simple and difficult weather conditions. The visualization system includes Kazan and the mountainous and wooded area of the Adler regions.
