The Netherlands to Order AIM-9X Block II Missiles for $117M

The Netherlands could soon sign a contract for AIM-9X Block II Sidewinder missiles, now that it has received the greenlight from the Biden administration.

On Thursday, the U.S. approved the possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of the Netherlands of AIM-9X Block II Missiles and related equipment for an estimated cost of $117 million.

As per a Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) release issued today, the contract covers delivery of 95 AIM-9X Block II tactical missiles, 43 AIM-9X Block II+ tactical missiles and one AIM-9X Block II+ Tactical Guidance Unit.

The principal contractor will be Raytheon Missiles and Defense, Tucson, AZ.
