The Russian Black Sea Fleet has put to service a captured Ukrainian Navy armored boat.

The Ukrainian boat currently in Russian control is an Ackerman (P174) Project 58155 Gyurza-M boat captured in Mariupol, mil.in.ua reported.

The Russian military assigned a new boat number – 201 to Ackerman. It is now being tested in occupied Sevastopol. Ackerman will reportedly take part in the parade on Russian Navy Day in Novorossiysk on July 31.

In 2020, the boat P174 and “Berdyansk” underwent repairs in Mykolaiv at the Mykolaiv Shipyard. Both boats were introduced to the fleet in 2016, and laid down in 2012 at the Kuznia na Rybalskomu shipbuilding enterprise in Kyiv.

Gyurza-M class of small armored gunboats are designed to carry out patrol service on rivers, lakes, outer roads and coastal marine waters with a distance of no more than 50 miles from the home port.
