Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy raised the country’s national flag at the liberated town of Izium in Kharkiv region.
Zelenskyy’s spokesman, Serhiy Nikiforov, told Ukrinform that the leader “took part in the Ukrainian national flag raising ceremony and congratulated liberators.”
Sicheslav 25th Separate Airborne Brigade wrote on Facebook today that the president was joined in the celebrations on the occasion of flying the Ukrainian flag in Izium by Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar, Army and other forces’ commanders whose units took part in liberating the town from Russian invaders.

“The event kicked off with those present honoring with the moment of silence the memory of the fallen defenders before the president of Ukraine thanked the soldiers for the liberation of Ukrainian lands and solemnly raised the Ukrainian flag over the city council! Izium is Ukraine!” the brigade press service wrote.
