Germany will deliver 50 Dingo armored personnel carriers and two multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine while Norway will hand over 14 IVECO LMV armoured vehicles to Kyiv.
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said this at a Bundeswehr conference on Thursday, September 15, according to Bild.
"Dingos have proven their effectiveness and will make a significant contribution to the protection of the military," she said. Besides, Germany plans to supply two MARS II multiple rocket launchers, including 200 rockets to Ukraine.
The Dingo is an armored vehicle used for patrolling and reconnaissance. The Bundeswehr has more than 500 such vehicles in service.
Lambrecht praised the successes of Ukraine in its fight against the Russian army in the Kharkiv region, which, she believes, "it has been able to achieve also with the help of German weapons."
Norway has donated 14 IVECO LMV armoured vehicles to Ukraine. The vehicles have very good mobility and protection. The same kind was used by Norwegian forces in Afghanistan.
The armoured vehicles are requested by Ukranian authorities, and the donation comes in addition to the other military equipment that Norway has already donated to Ukraine, including field artillery, air defense systems and anti-tank weapons.
Norway will continue to contribute to Ukraine’s fight for freedom. The Norwegian government is continuously assessing how Norway can further support Ukraine in its defence against Russia’s invasion, says Norwegian Minister of Defence, Bjørn Arild Gram.
