India’s government-owned DRDO handed over a Health Usage & Monitoring System built for the Navy’s MiG-29K fighter.
The system was developed by DRDO’s Aeronautical Research and Development Board (AR&DB). This solution uses machine learning and data analytics on Flight Data Recorder data to help Indian Navy enhance the serviceability of the aircraft by predicting failure before they occur.
The MiG-29K is the mainstay of the Indian Navy’s carrier borne fleet. The aircraft recently made its maiden landing and take-off from India’s indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant indicating its continuing usage into the foreseeable future. The other aircraft that landed on the Vikrant, the Naval LCA is yet to receive its certification after which it will be mass-produced.
