CACI International Inc., an information-technology services company announced on Wednesday that it has received a contract valued at up to $94 million and a $14.2 million initial task order to support Homeland Security Department initiatives. The work includes supporting efforts to protect national infrastructure through duty desk, watch desk and operation support services for the department's National Protection and Program Directorate. CACI is one of two companies awarded the five-year contract, which includes one base year and four one-year options. Under the first task order, CACI's support includes duty desk operations that involves coordinating with state and local groups across the country. Future support may include watch desk responsibilities monitoring events ranging from natural disasters to possible terrorist incidents, the company said.
