Boeing is awarded a $70.7 million contract to provide integrated logistics support in support of preparing Kuwaiti pilots for delivery of the Kuwait F/A-18E/F Super Hornets.
The support will include general logistics; logistics program management; logistics support to aircraft during pilot training within the continental U.S. (CONUS); maintenance of aircraft, aircraft armament equipment, F414 engines, and Sniper pods.
Work will be mainly performed in New Orleans, Louisiana (90%); St. Louis, Missouri (8%); and is expected to be completed in September 2026, a Pentagon contract announcement said Wednesday.
In November 2016, Kuwait was approved to buy some 40 Super Hornets (32 F/A-18E) and eight F/A-18F) for an estimated $10 billion.
In September 2021, Boeing announced that it has completed the delivery of 28 F/A-18E/F aircraft and transferred them to the U.S. Navy for eventual handover to Kuwait.
However, the final delivery to Kuwait had been delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
