India and Armenia discussed possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of defense at a meeting in Delhi.
Edward Asryan and Anil Chauhan, Chiefs of the General Staffs of the Armed Forces of Armenia and India, met in Delhi on March 6.
“The meeting discussed issues related to regional security and bilateral cooperation, in particular, the possibility of expanding cooperation between Armenia and India in the field of defense,” the press service of the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
Asryan also took part in the discussions at the National Security Council of India on the topic of regional security, Armenian-Indian defense cooperation.
India has reportedly received a large export order worth $245 million for the supply of weapons to Armenia. Indian media reported citing sources that the order provides for the first ever export multi-barreled rocket launchers Pinaka, which are in service with the Indian army, as well as the supply of anti-tank missiles and ammunition.
