U.A.E.’s Edge, U.S.’ UAVOS to to Collaborate on Laser-based Counter-UAV Solutions

EDGE Group entity, GRADEONE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with UAVOS, a developer and manufacturer of advanced unmanned systems, to create a joint research and development, production and commercialisation centre for autonomous solutions and weapon systems.

As per the MoU, the centre will initially focus on the development of laser-based counter UAV solutions and high-speed aerial targets for the region. The companies will jointly work in additional key areas regarding the development and adoption of security technology for autonomous platforms, including piloted aircraft conversion.

The agreement ensures work in three key areas related to development and adoption of security technology for uncrewed land and air platforms. Developing, testing and manufacturing an anti-drone laser system, Refinement of a family of uncrewed jet powered Arrow aerial targets, and Program of piloted aircraft into drones conversion. The cooperation will be geared towards developing the products for the UAE market as well as other countries, a UAVOS releases said.
