Russian forces launched an attack against Kyiv with over 50 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones Saturday night, some of which struck military and infrastrcture facilities.
The Ukrainian Air Force (UAF) reported on its social media channel that the attacks came from the Briansk and Krasnodar regions of Russia.
"The enemy directed another night attack at military facilities and critical infrastructure in the central regions of the country, particularly in the Kyiv region. Here, in the area of responsibility of the Air Command Center, most of the attack drones were destroyed,” the UAF said.
Mykola Oleschuk, Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, noted that this was a record number of drones destroyed by Ukrainian forces. The majority of them were hit in the Kyiv region.
The Kyiv City Military Administration announced that one person was reported dead, and two were injured in the attack. In particular, debris froma falling drone hit a 7-story non-residential building in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, and there was also a fire on the roof of the mall and on a construction site.
