Russia’s state-owned Rostec said its subsidiary Ruselectronics holding will create a research and production center to test the development of unmanned aerial systems in the Urals Federal District.
It will develop promising products in the field of unmanned aircraft escort, and will also act as a “one-stop shop” for providing regional support measures to technology companies in the industry. The holding's partners in this project will be Chelyabinsk State University and the InSmart group of companies.
Within the framework of the project, the Chelyabinsk Radio Plant Polet, which is part of Ruselectronics, will serve as the base for the center. The company's engineers will create products to ensure the safety and control of UAV flights.
The design and production activities of the center will focus on special ground technical facilities, as well as navigation and communication equipment. Polet will develop circuitry, board topology, firmware, etc. The plant will also test new products and launch them into mass production.
The project involves the use of the scientific potential of ChelGU in order to train highly qualified specialists for the industry. InSmart, in turn, will take care of supplying the center with the necessary components.
ChRZ "Polet" in the contour of Rostec is engaged in the production of radar and navigation equipment for airfields.
