In a First, Bayraktar Drone Shot Down by Igla-S MANPAD
Turkey’s Bayraktar-TB2 combat drone has been shot down by a Russian Igla-S MANPAD for the first time.
Defense Ministry-owned Zvezda published footage showing wreckage of the drone shot by Igla. The report claimed the drone fell from a height of 2km.
“The drone fell from a height of 2km, but many important elements remained intact. They were handed over for further study to military engineers,” the report said.
Turkey has supplied tens of TB2s to Ukraine till date, from even before the war started. Independent monitoring organization Oryx wrote in its recent report that 24 Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2s have been destroyed in the war with Russia.
