Russian arms exporter, Rosoboronexport, said that Russia will complete deliveries of eight Su-30MK2 fighters to Vietnam by 2010. Russia and Vietnam had signed a $500 million agreement on the sale of eight Su-30MK2 fighters in January 2009. "The contract was signed in January, and we will fulfil it in 2009-2010," Alexander Mikheyev, deputy general director of Rosoboronexport said at the MAKS-2009 air show near Moscow. Su-30MK2 is an advanced two-seat version of the Su-30 multirole fighter with upgraded electronics and is primarily designed for a maritime strike role. It has the capability to launch anti-ship missiles. The Vietnamese version Su-30MK2V will have slight modifications to the regular MK2 versions.
