Almaz-Antey Speeds up Deliveries of Buk-M3 Anti-Aircraft Systems to Russian Troops

Russia's Almaz-Antey is expediting the delivery of Buk-M3 medium-range anti-aircraft missile systems to Russian armed forces and is set to receive another shipment this month, driven by the heightened demand for these weapons due to the Ukraine War.

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, the defense minister, conducted an inspection of the implementation of the state defense order at JSC Concern VKO 'Almaz-Antey' in Ulyanovsk. Shoigu acknowledged the significant demand for Almaz-Antey's products, highlighting their exceptional efficiency in the special military operation zone.

Almaz-Antey informed Shoigu of their preparedness to transfer the next division of the Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in October.

In September of this year, the company already accelerated the delivery of one division of the Buk-M3 SAM system to the Russian Defense Ministry. According to this year's state defense order, they are tasked with delivering two divisions. The first division was supplied ahead of schedule in September, and the final stages of the second division's completion are currently underway. General Director of JSC Ulyanovsk Mechanical Plant, Sergei Churin, stressed that the second division is in its final assembly and adjustment phase in September. He also mentioned that the plant's workforce and infrastructure are fully prepared to increase production volumes of these systems as planned for 2024 and 2025.

During September 2022, the ministry announced that the Buk-M2 and Buk-M3 systems had eliminated 40 Ukrainian military targets in a single month.
