HENSOLDT Nexeya France has supplied the LYNCEA combat system to the second French Navy Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) named 'Teriieroo a Teriierooiterai.'
This follows the delivery of the 'Auguste Bénébig,' the initial OPV under the French Defence Procurement Agency (DGA) order.
The christening ceremony for the 'Teriieroo a Teriierooiterai' took place at the SOCARENAM shipyard in Calais. The vessel is part of a larger order of six OPVs by the DGA, with the entire fleet dedicated to safeguarding French interests within its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) overseas.
HENSOLDT Nexeya France enhanced the mission system of the patrol vessel, integrating data from a range of sensors, including IFF, radar, EOTS observation cameras, and ship inertial units, with effectors like the Fire Control System and the Canon. To bolster this system, HENSOLDT provided two key sensors: the SHARPEYE MK11 surveillance radar from HENSOLDT UK and the IFF MSSR2000 encrypted interrogator from HENSOLDT AG.
In a bid to increase operational efficiency, a wireless version of the mission system, LYNCEA Mobile, was installed, allowing marine riflemen on board Rapid Response RHIBs to access real-time tactical data on mobile tablets and share audio/video feeds with the ship's crew, enhancing decision-making during operations.
Comprehensive trials, both alongside the quayside (HAT) and at sea (SAT), were successfully conducted in October to ensure the system's reliability and effectiveness.
