The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) disclosed significant developments in their 24-hour operation against Hamas in Gaza, including precision airstrikes on over 450 Hamas-related targets, such as terrorists, military compounds, observation posts, and anti-tank missile launch posts.

IDF ground troops secured control of a Hamas military compound in Gaza. This compound reportedly housed observation posts, training facilities for Hamas operatives, and a network of underground terror tunnels, IDF said on in an X post

The IDF's actions were guided by intelligence from both the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and the IDF itself. Notably, IDF fighter jets successfully neutralized Jamal Mussa, a key figure responsible for Hamas' special security operations.

The Israeli military command declared a "significant stage" in the ongoing conflict by isolating northern Gaza from the southern region. This strategic maneuver was executed in preparation for an expected incursion into Gaza City. Israeli media reports that military troops are poised to enter Gaza City within the next 48 hours.

Hamas is expected to engage in street-by-street combat while utilizing their extensive network of tunnels.

Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, including recent strikes on two refugee camps, have resulted in several casualties, highlighting the escalating nature of the conflict and raising calls for a humanitarian pause.

The month-long conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides. According to Gaza's health ministry, over 9,700 Palestinians have lost their lives. In Israel, more than 1,200 people have lost their lives due to attacks by Hamas, and over 200 individuals have been taken hostage by the militant group.

The situation has also impacted communications in Gaza. Phone services have been disrupted for the third time in a month as the Israeli military encircles Gaza City and effectively divides the besieged coastal strip into north and south.
