Saab, the defense and security company, has entered into a contract with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to conduct concept development studies aimed at exploring potential future underwater capabilities for Sweden.

The studies, initiated by FMV, are preparatory in nature and will concentrate on advancing key technology areas and introducing new technologies specifically tailored for submarines and related underwater capabilities within the Swedish defense framework.

These studies align with Sweden's established tradition of evolutionary submarine design and technology development. The approach involves refining existing solutions and integrating novel technologies through an iterative development process. Saab's engagement in these concept development studies underscores a strategic effort to contribute to the ongoing evolution of Sweden's underwater defense capabilities.
