At the Singapore Airshow 2024, PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) and Honeywell have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collectively enhance the performance, reliability, and mission readiness of the S-70M helicopter platform for the Indonesian Army.
The agreement outlines the intention of PTDI and Honeywell to explore procurement opportunities for avionics and mechanical products from Honeywell, specifically tailored for the S-70M helicopters in service with the Indonesian Army. The MoU also lays out potential collaboration avenues for localizing Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) capabilities for Honeywell avionics and mechanical systems on helicopters. Additionally, PTDI is slated to manufacture and supply Harnesses for Honeywell as part of the collaboration.
PTDI and Honeywell have previously collaborated on systems for the Indonesian Air Force's CN235 and the NC212 aircraft engine.
This collaboration follows a previously signed MoU in November 2023, wherein both parties committed to joint initiatives related to maintenance services, spare parts upgrades, and manufacturing, with the ultimate goal of increasing the mission readiness of the Indonesian Armed Forces.
Helicopter maker Sikorsky signed an agreement with PTDI to pursue a sales agreement of up to 24 Sikorsky S-70M Black Hawk helicopters for the Republic of Indonesia. The S-70M Black Hawk is built at Lockheed Martin’s PZL Mielec facility in Poland and has been exported to several countries.
