The Indonesian Army's Center for Army Weaponry, Pussenarmed, recently conducted trials of the Spanish-origin ALPHA A900 Unmanned System.
The trials, which took place on March 18 at Husein Sastranegara Airport, aimed to assess the capabilities and limitations of the new armed system tool in target detection using UAVs, according to an official Pussenarmed press release.
The UAV is slated to be assembled in Indonesia through the local partner PT. GLOBAL DEFENSE in collaboration with PT. MS.TECH. The ALPHA A900 boasts a cruising speed of 100 km/hour, a maximum takeoff weight of 25 kg, and a flight endurance of up to 4 hours. It also offers encrypted data transmission up to 50 km.
Equipped with advanced camera technology and geotracking capabilities, the UAV is expected to serve various purposes, including aiding the Indonesian Coast Guard in maritime surveillance and supporting the Medan Artillery System in target acquisition.
