Argentina has recently taken delivery of a C-130H Hercules aircraft donated by the United States.

Argentine President Javier Milei and Minister of Defense Luis Petri welcomed General Laura Richardson, head of the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), last week to engage in a series of activities culminating in the official transfer of the Hercules C-130H aircraft.

“The donation of a new Hercules C-130 aircraft for definitive incorporation into the Argentine Air Force demonstrates the strong cooperation between our nations,” said President Milei during the ceremony held at the Aeroparque Military Air Station (AMA).

The aircraft will join the fleet of the I Air Transport Squadron based in the I Air Brigade of El Palomar, enhancing Argentina's transportation and logistical support capabilities.

The defense minister expressed gratitude to the United States for their assistance in negotiating the purchase of 24 F-16 combat aircraft from Denmark. The Argentine defense ministry emphasized that "the arrival of this air defense system will contribute to restoring the supersonic interception capability of the Argentine Air Force."
