General Atomics' Mojave UAS Destroys Static Targets in Live-Fire Tests

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) has confirmed that its Mojave Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) conducted live-fire tests against static targets on April 13, 2024, at the Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona.

The tests validated the system’s capability to engage and destroy static targets, demonstrating its effectiveness in battlefield scenarios.

For these tests, GA-ASI collaborated with Dillon Aero to integrate two DAP-6 Gun Pod Systems onto the Mojave aircraft. During the demonstration, the Mojave UAS completed a total of seven passes across two flights, expending approximately 10,000 rounds of ammunition.

The Mojave UAS features short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability, allowing it to operate from unimproved landing sites and aircraft carriers.

The live-fire demonstration was funded through GA-ASI’s internal research and development budget.

The Mojave UAS shares common systems and components with GA-ASI’s modernized Gray Eagle 25M, enhancing its expeditionary capabilities. Additionally, GA-ASI plans to introduce a wing kit option for the larger MQ-9B aircraft, including SkyGuardian and SeaGuardian models.
