Calian Ltd. has joined the Canadian FORC3 consortium as a partner in developing a proposal for the Canadian Army’s Land Vehicle Crew Training System (LVCTS) program.
Beyond its military training expertise, Calian specializes in customizing multi-domain data interoperability and integration support, augmenting both learning and operational decision-making processes. Leveraging products like the Virtual Command and Control Interface (VCCI) Tool Suite, Calian facilitates the federation of multiple simulation, C4ISR, and AI-enabled data analytics systems to support training activities and deliver comprehensive after-action reviews.
The FORC3 consortium comprises Rheinmetall Canada (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu), Lockheed Martin Canada (Ottawa), the ADGA Group (Ottawa), Bluedrop Training and Simulation (Halifax), EllisDon Construction and Building Services (London), and REDspace Incorporated (Halifax).
Together, the FORC3 partners operate over 40 global training centers, extending support to Canada’s key allies, including NATO and the Five-Eyes Alliance.
As per the Canadian armed forces, the Land Vehicle Crew Training System project will deliver a training system, connected by a network and housed in purpose-built facilities, to enable crews of the principle armored combat vehicles to train as realistically as possible at their home garrison locations.
The LVCTS will replicate all crew stations within the Light Armored Vehicle 6.0, the Leopard 2 Main Battle Tank and the Tactical Armored Patrol Vehicle with sufficient realism to enable soldiers to train both as individuals and collectively up to the combat team level. This will be achieved using a networked synthetic environment that realistically simulates various terrain and enemy capabilities. The LVCTS will be delivered to the five main Canadian Army garrison locations (Gagetown, Valcartier, Petawawa, Edmonton and Shilo) with sustainment provided at each facility by contractors.
