Uralvagonzavod (UVZ) has delivered a new batch of the upgraded T-90M main battle tanks (MBTs), known as Project 188M "Proryv-3," to Russian Ground Forces units stationed in the Special Military Operation (SVO) zone.
This was reported by Russian Arms Telegram channel.
These tanks are being sent to a key operational area, where they can be retrofitted with Groza or Saniya electronic countermeasure systems by repair battalions. They will also receive enhanced anti-drone and anti-cumulative "visors" to protect against cumulative warheads from enemy FPV strike drones.
A notable feature of the T-90M is the Kalina fire control system, which includes the Sosna-U multi-channel gunner's sights and the PKP commander's panoramic sight with a thermal imaging channel. This allows the commander to perform infrared reconnaissance for heat-contrast targets at night from a distance of 4,500 to 5,000 meters, without needing to align the turret with the enemy.
Currently, infrared reconnaissance is primarily conducted using drones equipped with thermal imaging modules.
