Teledyne FLIR Defense Unveils New Long-Range Airborne Imaging System for Helicopters
UltraFORCE 380-HDc imaging system

Teledyne FLIR Defense introduced the UltraFORCE 380-HDc imaging system for helicopters at the ongoing Farnborough International Air Show.

This long-range airborne surveillance solution is not subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), facilitating easier shipping and movement for customers outside the United States.

The UltraFORCE 380-HDc offers high-definition multi-spectral imaging in a compact design. It features full 1080p resolution across its visual, thermal, low-light, and shortwave infrared (SWIR) cameras, making it suitable for various missions, including reconnaissance, patrol, and search and rescue operations.

Equipped with an advanced laser rangefinder and pointer, the system allows users to discreetly highlight targets or points of interest, coordinating with observers using night vision goggles. Its intelligent, automated operation enhances tracking capabilities, providing continuous updates on the size, location, speed, and distance of multiple targets.

With a low-profile design and a weight of only 30 kg (65 lbs), the UltraFORCE 380-HDc is optimized for rotary aircraft. The system provides two- to four-times greater magnification than other products in its class.

The system is set to be available globally in the fourth quarter, with support from Teledyne FLIR’s Surveillance Service Centre in West Malling, Kent, to meet UK and EU content requirements.

Additionally, it can be configured with Teledyne’s 380X imaging enhancements, which include advanced video management and atmospheric effect filters.
