The Vietnamese Air Force has completed the Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of six L-39NG trainer aircraft, Czech manufacturer Aero Vodochody has announced.
The SAT, conducted by a joint team of specialists from Aero and Omnipol, verified the aircraft's functions and flight capabilities.
This follows the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) at Aero's plant, where the aircraft met all specified requirements. The L-39NG aircraft will serve as a training platform for fighter pilots and a tactical platform for various missions.
The delivery includes comprehensive training kits, simulation systems, and manuals for pilots and mechanics. The L-39NG boasts modern avionics, an efficient jet engine, and excellent flight characteristics, making it an ideal trainer for fourth and fifth-generation aircraft like the F-16 and F-35.
Vietnam, the first customer of the L-39NG, signed a contract for 12 aircraft in 2021.
