Belgium and the Netherlands Acquire K-STER Mine Warfare Systems from Exail

EXAIL Technologies has secured a €60 million contract to provide the Belgian and Dutch navies with twelve robotic underwater mine countermeasure systems and several hundred K-STER drones as part of the BENL program.

K-STER drones are used in the final phase of missions to neutralize underwater threats identified by other drones in the UMIS system.

These "consumable" drones are destroyed during the mine neutralization process and will be mass-produced at the drone assembly site in Ostend, Belgium, benefiting from economies of scale.

This order highlights Exail’s business model for maritime robotic systems, where initial contracts drive ongoing revenue through long-term client support, including consumables, maintenance, and upgrades. It is the company's largest order to date and signifies a transition to industrial-scale production.
