The Finnish Defence Forces has placed an order for additional Patria 6x6 armoured personnel carriers (APCs) under an existing procurement agreement.

This acquisition is part of an option for extra vehicles included in the contract signed in the summer of 2023 between Patria and the Defence Forces Logistics Command. Initially, the agreement covered the delivery of 91 APCs, and it included an additional purchase option for 70 vehicles. At the end of 2023, the Defence Forces exercised this option, acquiring 41 of the vehicles, and now an additional 29 have been ordered.

The newly ordered vehicles are scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2025.

This procurement is part of the international Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which involves Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany. The CAVS programme focuses on collaborative vehicle development and ensuring compatibility among the participating nations. The programme's research and development phase began at the end of 2020, with deliveries already underway to three of the partner countries.
