Saab has officially announced plans to establish a new munitions facility in Grayling, Michigan.

The facility will be dedicated to the final assembly and integration of shoulder-fired munitions and precision fire systems. Groundbreaking for the site is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024, with initial manufacturing operations expected to commence in early 2026.

Once operational, the Grayling facility will be the tenth for Saab, Inc. in the United States. The company’s existing facilities include advanced manufacturing operations in West Lafayette, Indiana; radar and sensor systems in Syracuse, New York; training and simulation in Orlando, Florida; and autonomous and undersea systems in Cranston, Rhode Island, and Quincy, Massachusetts. Additionally, Saab recently opened a new operationally focused incubator in San Diego, California.
