Israeli Air Strike Against Municipal Building in Lebanon Kills 16, Including Mayor; Wounds 52

Israeli strike on Southern Lebanon town Nabatieh's Municipality building killed 16, wounded 52 in final toll: Health Ministry-

Earlier report: Five people were killed on Wednesday following Israeli airstrikes allegedly targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure in the Nabatieh Municipality and the Municipalities Union buildings, as per reports.

The Israeli occupation forces conducted extensive airstrikes in the vicinity of Nabatieh, hitting residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed the fatalities, stating, "The Israeli enemy strike... on two buildings... killed five people." The death toll is preliminary, with rescue teams continuing to search for survivors under the debris. Among the deceased was Nabatieh Mayor Ahmad Kahil, along with a member of the municipality and three other civilians.

Nabatieh Governor Howaida Turk noted that the administrative team targeted in the strike was present at the municipality building to provide essential services amid the ongoing crisis. She characterized the damage from the airstrikes as severe.

The Israeli forces reportedly launched over seven airstrikes on various neighborhoods in the Nabatieh al-Tahta area and also targeted the town of Habboush. Other towns, including Aita al-Shaab, Hanin, al-Taybeh, Tal al-Owaida, and al-Qlaileh, also experienced airstrikes.

According to Lebanon's National News Agency, the death toll since October of last year has risen to 2,350, with 10,906 reported injuries. The latest figures indicate that since intense Israeli operations began on September 23, 1,356 people have died.

In addition to the airstrikes in southern Lebanon, two were reported in the Southern Suburb of Beirut, targeting a building in the Shoura area of Haret Hreik.

23 Israeli forces injured in Gaza and Southern Lebanon

According to the Palestinian news agency Sama, the Israeli army reported that 23 of its soldiers were injured in battles with Palestinian and Lebanese forces in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours. The army also stated that 16 soldiers had been killed and 305 injured since the start of ground operations in Lebanon, bringing their total death toll to 470 since Operation Al-Aqsa Storm began.
