Rostec has introduced its IGLA anti-drone cartridges for LEX series firearms at the ORЁLEXPO exhibition in Moscow, which runs from October 17 to 20, 2024.
These cartridges are designed to neutralize small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and utilize a dense shot pattern to penetrate both metal and plastic components of drones.
The product line includes two variants: the containerless LEX 30 for engagements up to 30 meters and the LEX 50 for targets at distances up to 50 meters. Both cartridges have a caliber of 12/76, achieving a flight speed of at least 435 meters per second and a shot accuracy of 60%. They can be loaded with various shot sizes, including No. 0000-5 or 6.2-8.5 mm buckshot, with a lead hardness of at least 16 HV.
Additional offerings include the IGLA LEX Tracer, which features a red light element for visibility during flight up to 100 meters, and the IGLA LEX 100, which uses a super-hard alloy shot for improved effectiveness against targets at the same distance. The cartridges are primarily intended for Russian law enforcement personnel. The exhibition also showcases a variety of hunting cartridges from the IGLA line, including Premium and OPTIMUM cartridges, containerless BIOR cartridges, and sport cartridges like the IGLA CHAMPION for clay pigeon shooting.
