The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force reportedly neutralized four “terrorist” teams during a military exercise in Iran’s Sistan and Balouchestan province, killing four and capturing four others.
The war game, named “Martyrs of Security,” took place amid heightened security concerns in the region.
During the exercise, IRGC forces detected eight members of what they described as “enemy proxies” and engaged them with support from Iran’s Intelligence Ministry and Police forces. According to drill spokesperson General Shafaei, these units delivered “lethal blows” to the infiltrating terrorist teams, dismantling their operations on Thursday night.
Authorities seized a cache of weapons and ammunition from the groups. General Shafaei noted that “advanced IRGC equipment" including combat drones and modern reconnaissance tactics, was used in the successful counter-terrorism operation.
