The HÜRKUŞ-2 training aircraft, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), has completed its first flight.

This 20-minute flight reached an altitude of 6,500 feet and a speed of 140 knots. The aircraft features a modified external design and a higher ratio of locally produced components, including the canopy, cooling system, hydraulic pump, radio, and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems.

A total of 55 HÜRKUŞ-2 aircraft are set to be produced, with the first 15 scheduled for delivery to the Turkish Air Force in 2025. The remaining 40 aircraft are expected to be delivered by 2027.

HÜRKUŞ-2 has been developed to meet the training needs of the Turkish Air Force and is part of a contract with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB).
