The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to Saudi Arabia involving 20 MK 54 MOD 0 Lightweight Torpedoes and associated equipment for $78.5 million.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) notified Congress of the sale on the same day.

The deal includes spare parts, exercise torpedoes, training, containers, support equipment, and engineering services. Saudi Arabia aims to enhance its anti-submarine warfare capabilities with this acquisition. The torpedoes, designed for deployment from ships and aircraft, incorporate sonar, guidance systems, and modular components for undersea operations.
