Kalashnikov to Present New KUB Kamikaze Drone at IDEX, Abu Dhabi

Russia’s Kalashnikov Concern, in collaboration with the Izhevsk Unmanned Systems research and production association, will present the KUB-2-E loitering munitions at the International Exhibition of Arms and Defense Technologies (IDEX 2025) in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

The event, scheduled from February 17 to 21, will mark the global debut of these small and medium-class guided weapons.

The KUB-2-E loitering munitions are engineered to target enemy personnel and a variety of military assets. The small-class variant focuses on destroying individual soldiers and unarmored vehicles, while the medium-class version has a broader scope. It is designed to strike UAV launch sites, helicopter bases, as well as unarmored and lightly armored military equipment.

Both variants incorporate optical-electronic systems, enabling precision targeting even against moving threats.

Weighing over 10 kilograms, the KUB-2-E systems are built to operate in diverse and challenging environments. These munitions function effectively in daytime and nighttime, withstanding extreme weather conditions, smoky or dusty atmospheres, and wind speeds up to 15 meters per second. They are designed to perform reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to +50°C. The systems also feature resistance to both passive and active electronic interference.
