Schiebel Wins European Maritime Safety Agency Contract for S-100 UAS

Schiebel has signed a new multi-year service contract with the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) to provide Remotely Piloted Aircraft Services (RPAS) using the CAMCOPTER S-100 Unmanned Air System (UAS).

The agreement marks the third consecutive tender win for Schiebel since its initial contract with EMSA in 2018.

The contract includes a fixed term of two years, with an option for an additional two years, enabling continued support for European Union member states in monitoring ship emissions and conducting maritime surveillance.

Capable of vertical takeoff and landing, the S-100 supports a range of operations, such as search and rescue, oil spill detection, and compliance monitoring of International Maritime Organization (IMO) emission limits. Its ability to carry payloads up to 50 kg and operate day and night under adverse weather conditions enhances its utility for maritime operations.

The CAMCOPTER S-100 has been stationed both on land and aboard ships, demonstrating versatility in meeting operational demands.

The S-100 UAS is designed to support military and civilian missions with its carbon-fiber and titanium construction, extended endurance, and beyond-line-of-sight capabilities. It has been utilized in environments lacking GPS, further enhancing its operational range.
