France has delivered €6 billion in military aid to Ukraine since the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022, according to the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The assistance encompasses a wide array of equipment, including combat aircraft, drones, weapons, ammunition, and specialized training for Ukrainian military personnel.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and French President Emmanuel Macron met in Poland following a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Auschwitz-Birkenau liberation. During the meeting, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for France’s steadfast support. Discussions also covered enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities and exploring security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe.

French Mirage Fighter Jets to Ukraine Soon

France will deliver Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of the first quarter of 2025, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed. The announcement follows Macron’s commitment in mid-2024 to supply Kyiv with Mirage 2000 fighters, with reports suggesting the aircraft will undergo modernization to support advanced weaponry such as SCALP EG/Storm Shadow cruise missiles and AASM bombs.

In December 2024, a cohort of Ukrainian pilots completed training on Mirage 2000-5F jets in France, alongside ground support personnel. Ukrainian forces, familiar with operating French-provided weapons systems, are expected to deploy the aircraft effectively against Russian aggression.

French Artillery and Armored Vehicles in Active Use

French-supplied 155mm Caesar self-propelled howitzers remain integral to Ukrainian artillery operations, providing precision and mobility on the battlefield. Additionally, the deployment of a French VAB Mk.3 armored personnel carrier equipped with the Ukrainian Sich combat module highlights Franco-Ukrainian cooperation in military innovation.

The Sich module, controlled remotely from within the vehicle, features a 30mm automatic cannon, an AG-30 grenade launcher, and a PKT 7.62mm machine gun, offering versatility in combat scenarios.
