Lockheed Martin Delivers First F-16 Block 70 Jet to Bulgaria
Bulgaria’s F-16 acquisition strengthens regional security and contributes to NATO peacekeeping efforts.
Lockheed Martin has officially delivered the first F-16 Block 70 fighter jet to Bulgaria.
According to a statement issued by the company today, the delivery took place during a ceremony held last Friday at its Greenville, South Carolina facility, attended by Bulgaria’s Minister of Defence, Atanas Zapryanov, as well as American and Bulgarian officials.
Lockheed Martin has committed to delivering 16 F-16 jets to the country as part of a deal signed in 2019 and 2022. Bulgaria’s first two F-16 Block 70 aircraft are scheduled to arrive in the country by April 2025.
